Cancellation Policy
I understand that life with dogs, and life in general, is unpredictable. I ask only that you extend to me the same courtesy and respect for my time that I extend to you.
Cancellations by the client:
-
Cancellations made with more than 24 hours notice will be offered a reschedule or a full refund at our discretion
-
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will forfeit the session fee in full. No refund or reschedule will be offered in these circumstances
-
Non-attendance without notice will be treated as a late cancellation and the full session fee will be retained
-
Cancellations by The Well Rooted Dog:
-
In the event that I, Sarah Knowles, needs to cancel a confirmed session, you will be notified as soon as possible and offered a full reschedule at no additional cost
-
Where a reschedule cannot be agreed within a reasonable timeframe, a full refund will be issued
I reserve the right to cancel or refuse a booking where I believe it is not in the best interests of the dog, the client, or the practitioner's safety. In such circumstances a full refund will be provided. The weather can cause major disruption throughout the year and sessions may be rescheduled or cancelled at short notice. In this instance a reschedule is offered.
Animal Welfare & Duty of Care
The Well Rooted Dog operates in full accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and is committed to the highest standards of ethical, force-free, and compassionate animal care.
My commitment to your dog:
All services are delivered using positive reinforcement methods. I will never use, recommend or support the use of aversive equipment or punishment-based techniques. The physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing of your dog is my priority at all times.
Duty to report:
As a professional canine practitioner, I, Sarah Knowles has a responsibility to report concerns relating to animal welfare to the appropriate authorities. This includes but is not limited to:
-
Evidence or reasonable suspicion of animal cruelty, neglect or abuse
-
Injuries or conditions that suggest unreported harm
-
Situations where an animal's five welfare needs are not being met
Where a welfare concern arises, I am obligated to act — this may include contacting the RSPCA, local authority animal welfare officers, or the police. I will always endeavour to handle such situations with sensitivity and without prejudice, but my duty of care to the animal takes precedence.
Veterinary referral:
Where I identify signs of physical pain, discomfort or a medical condition that may be contributing to a dog's behaviour, I will recommend veterinary assessment and referral to Jayne Strange before or alongside our work together. I reserve the right to pause or decline services where I believe a dog requires veterinary attention that has not been sought.
Health & Safety
Clients are responsible for ensuring their dog is safe to work with and that any known health conditions, injuries or behavioural history relevant to the session have been disclosed prior to booking. Failure to disclose relevant information may result in the session being terminated without refund.
The Well Rooted Dog reserves the right to end any session immediately where the safety of the dog, the client or the practitioner is at risk.
Photograpy & Social Media
I occasionally share client case studies, session updates and training progress on my website and social media channels. I will always ask for your explicit consent before sharing any images or information that identifies you or your dog. You may withdraw this consent at any time.
Changes to this Policy
I reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
